The current global crisis brought about by four decades of rampant neoliberal globalisation requires a robust and radical response from governance institutions to address and regulate the structures and processes that are producing and reproducing poverty and growing inequalities in both the Global South and North. The Governance Working Group welcomes paper proposals that focus on various current economic, social and environmental challenges, ranging from climate change and migration to food and trade deals, and investigate the role of governance institutions in addressing such challenges. Governance institutions can range from governments at local and national levels to international organisations and UN agencies, and papers may also wish to focus on the crucial role of civil society organisations in holding governanceinstitutions to account and in mobilising and advocating for new ways of thinking and responding to current global challenges.
