James K. Galbraith to deliver the Dudley Seers Lecture

We are delighted that Professor James K. Galbraith has accepted our invitation to deliver the Dudley Seers Lecture on 20. August 2017 in Bergen.

James K. Galbraith holds the Lloyd M. Bentsen Jr. Chair in Government/Business Relations and a professorship of government at the LBJ School of Public Affairs. His research focusses on global  inequalities and economic development.

His most recent publication is “The End of Normal: The Great Crisis and the Future of Growth” (Simon&Schuster 2014in which he calls for a reconceptualisation of the growth paradigm as engine for economic development.

Since 2008, the Dudley Seers Lecture has been an inherent part of the EADI General Conferences. Remembering one of the founding members and the first EADI president, this lecture  allows an eminent speaker to formally set the tone for the debates at and around the conference.
